FINAL POST

PETER ANTICUANDO

A52

JOURNAL / REFLECTION / SELF - ASSESSMENT

MODULE 1

Towards personal effectiveness - Orientation

In our first meeting, we meet our classmates. We were also asked to do a simple activity to determine our personalities and to personally know each other.

It was a simple game wherein you have to fill out a paper that looks like a bingo card with signatures of people that have the same personality described in the box. I got to fill mine before the time runs out. Through this I got to meet other people and know a part of them.

In this session Ms. Rhia defined PERSEF to as development of career effectivity of a person.

MODULE 2

Emotional Maturity - Self-Management

In this session we did another activity wherein every member has to pass a poem and the last person needs to write it in the board. I got the role of the one who has to write the poem on the board. I got to memorize the poem but turned out that what my group mate told me was the wrong set of words.

It was an exciting activity and it made me a little nervous.

In this session we were also asked to answer a stress inventory sheet. For the record I got a high 150+ (I forgot my score :D) over 360. Man, I realized how stressed I am. :)

MODULE 3

Emotional Maturity - Ethics

Self-esteem, I kinda lack this aspect in life. I am not proud of my talents and what I do. But I intend to change this because working days are nearing me.

MODULE 4

Interpersonal Skills - Friends and Associates

I was absent in this session because I was trying to finish a project of mine and ended up waking up late. Sorry miss. :(

MODULE 5

Interpersonal Skills - Working on Relationships

MODULE 6

Interpersonal Skills - Marriage and Family Life

There was this speaker who substituted for Ms. Rhia to talk about marriage and family life. I forgot his name but I can remember his face. He talked about marriage being a hard thing to keep, due to temptations and the like.

The bad thing in this session was there were about a handful of our classmates were listening and almost a quarter of our class was absent.

MODULE 7

Career Development - Career Planning

MODULE 8

Career Development - Career Presentation (c/o OCCS)

The OCCS seminar was an extra class held in the SJ building. We were required to wear business attire and to fill up a resume. It was a little bit early and I almost arrived late for it. Even though it was a little bit boring I tend to listen to it and found out that it was not so boring after all. The speaker and the facilitators gave us facts and the lecture was very good. It was a nice experience walking along the classroom like selling yourself. It helped me in preparing for that job interview and for the future ahead of me.

MODULE 9

Service Commitment - Social Responsibility

MODULE 10

Service Commitment - Roles in the Community

This is the meeting wherein we came in late. Even though we are late, we still coped up with the topic. In here I learned that not only minors but children also experience the cruelty of poverty and the like. They are forced to undergo prostitution, child abuse and the like. It further disappoints me knowing that the government itself is not doing anything to alleviate its suffering.

MODULE 11

Leadership Skills - Cultural Sensitivity

MODULE 12

Leadership Skills - Situational and Motivational Leadership

This was out last activity for PERSEF2. In this final meeting of ours we are asked to form a circle and obey certain commands. After doing so we found ourselves entangled to each other. We were then asked to free ourselves from it. Others were losing hope while someone stepped up to the plate to take responsibility or command what to do. I myself tried to do something to help the group and succeeded in doing so.

// . even though i missed meetings i learned a lot from PERSEF2. it helped me to believe in myself and to improve on my attitude towards work. how i wish i could have another PERSEF class to help me boost my confidence thank you for the nice term miss! dont change, improve. D: . //
